Indian railways is the lifeline of Indian transportation and connectivity system allowing millions of people to travel across the length and breadth of the country via simple rail connection. This has been such a great initiative that major cargo and human transportation between states are heavily dependent on railways.

IRCTC is the railway wing that controls and manages the ticketing and handling of the Indian railways. It is well known that ticketing for the railway can be accessible via the IRCTC website or app for users. You book a ticket and then board to your destination, that’s how it works. But there’s one thing you have noticed. If you ever go to the railway station to drop off your family or friends, you’ll also need a platform ticket to be able to legally enter the railway platform.

This platform ticket initiative was made to allow the legality and the monitoring of the users and create a streamlined approach without everyone flogging the platform. The platform tickets are mandatory and any absence of such will be cause for penalty. As a result, users whenever they go to the station, get in line and buy a platform ticket. But getting in line can be time-consuming and hence there’s a digital feature that allows you to buy the platform ticket online.
